This module trains Emergency Response Team members in the safe use of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and emergency response procedures for respiratory arrest situations. It covers SCBA operation, maintenance, and limitations, as well as casualty management during respiratory emergencies. The course emphasises personal safety, correct donning/doffing techniques, and compliance with respiratory protection standards.

  • Emergency Response Team members operating in environments with toxic gases, smoke, or oxygen-deficient atmospheres.
  • Health & Safety Officers and Emergency Coordinators.
  • Employees working in confined spaces or hazardous chemical environments.
  • Supervisors and managers responsible for respiratory protection programs.

       Pre-requisites for joining this course: Completed Mod1, Mod2, Mod7 Low/Med CFS,

  • Respond effectively to respiratory arrest situations, including CPR and casualty management.
  • Document SCBA usage and post-incident actions for compliance and improvement.

  • Written Assessment: Multiple-choice and short-answer questions on SCBA operation and respiratory emergency protocols.
  • Practical Assessment: Hands-on SCBA donning/doffing and respiratory arrest response drills.
  • Continuous Assessment: Participation in group discussions and scenario-based exercises.
