Job Title Graduate Occupational Hygiene Consultant

Shorcontrol Safety is an Occupational Health and Safety company specialising in Safety training and Occupational Hygiene Consultancy.

Our Occupational Hygiene department identify, assess, and control risks to workers’ health from hazards present at their workplace including Hazardous Chemicals, Indoor Air Quality, noise/vibration monitoring, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, etc. Our team provide consultancy to a wide range of industries including to the food and drink, aviation, production, medical devices and pharmaceutical sectors.

We are actively seeking an enthusiastic Graduate Student looking to build a rewarding career in Irelands leading OH consultancy with a growing team of Occupational Hygienists. This role will see you working on a full-time basis, operating primarily from our head office in Naas whilst completing travel to client sites as required.

Main responsibilities:
– Travel to client sites throughout Ireland to assess exposure to noise, dust, chemicals etc. as required.
– Compile high quality reports based on your site work.
– Manage your own workload and diary with direction and support from the Occupational Hygiene Team
– Equipment and sample management
– Data and sample analysis
– Calibration and set-up of equipment

Required Skills/Qualifications:
• A keen interest in the area of workplace health, specifically in relation to human exposure to a wide range of physical, chemical and biological agents.
• Ideally a Postgraduate qualification in occupational health and safety or similar discipline or BOHS qualifications, though anyone with an interest or aptitude for occupational health and hygiene will be considered.
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in in biology, chemistry, workplace health and safety, engineering, physics or a science-related field.
• Strong interpersonal, numerical interpretation and organisation skills
• Excellent communication skills both face to face and over the telephone.
• Good observational skills and a facility for working with numbers.
• Competent in office applications and related software.
• Car and full driving license, as travel is required for this position.

Duties of the role:
• Assigning training rooms for the courses
• Scheduling open training courses
• Booking accommodation, flights & car hire for outside trainers
• Daily checking of numbers attending the training courses
• Chasing purchase orders for the training bookings
• Confirming tutors assigned to courses

The role involves preparing the paperwork for hire/off hire contracts and service paperwork of the Shorcontrol Safety equipment

Position:              Temporary contact Full Time.

Hours:                  8.30 am to 5.00 pm Mon to Friday.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Dealing with inbound calls for hiring safety equipment
  • Preparing paperwork for hire dockets
  • Preparing paperwork for equipment serviced by Shorcontrol Safety
  • Managing in-bound and out-bound equipment
  • Management of stock of PPE
  • Preparing quotations
  • Liaising with manufacturers and clients

Training Administration Manager

Manager Training Administration Department

We are working with our client to appoint a Manager for their Training Administration Department in Co. Kildare. Reporting to the General Manager, the Manager of the Training Administration Department will be responsible for a team of administrators who look after all pre and post-course documentation associated with the safety training courses provided by our client. The role will also involve liaising with professionals on course development, monitoring and verifying adherence to quality system and external awarding bodies requirements.

Hours of work: This is a full-time role, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary commensurate with experience.

Duties of the role:

  • Responsibility for the management of all areas of Administration, ensuring quality policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Liaising with outside contractors and assisting in course development to achieve external certification of training courses.
  • Preparing monthly KPIs around the administration department’s duties.
  • Communication with Tutors such as;
  • Certificate and CV maintenance.
  • Dealing with any issues on course documentation submitted back from the tutors.
  • Updates to programmes.

Reporting to the Training Administration Manager, the role will involve processing pre & post paperwork for awarding bodies such as SOLAS, City & Guilds & IOSH, invoicing & administration of training certificates.

Duties of the role:
• Preparing pre-course paperwork for training courses
• Notifying awarding bodies of upcoming courses
• Processing of post course paperwork and uploading to the relevant awarding bodies
• Liaising with tutors for any non-conformances

Educational Requirements:
• Good Leaving Certificate
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel and Outlook).
• Computer literate

We are recruiting a Service Engineer to join our existing dynamic and successful team in our Naas Depot, with an excellent opportunity for career development. The role requires mechanical/electrical skills with the ability to work efficiently and effectively and with a strong focus on customer service.

Shorcontrol Safety provides services in the area of personal safety for company employees across a wide range of business sectors. As a member of the team the successful candidate’s role will include service of Breathing Apparatus & Working at Heights PPE. The position will require time in the workshop and occasionally on – site visits to customer premises throughout Ireland to inspect the equipment

Position: Permanent Full Time
Start date: Immediate.
Salary: Open to negotiation and depending on experience.
Hours: 8.00 to 5.00 pm Mon to Friday.
