Aims:
This course has been designed as a refresher guide to the amount of knowledge, current information and equipment needed to conduct an effective inspection/examination of an item of construction plant and equipment.
It will also refresh/update what the inspection/examination process is and how you should record professional your decisions regarding the condition of the item as part of the formal notification of inspection/examination requirements.

Course Objectives
• Identify the general employer and employee duties associated with the Safety, Health, and Welfare at Work Act 2005.
• How to provide accurate information, instruction, and training appropriate to the use of a particular item of construction plant or machinery.
• Understand the powers of the HSA.
• Identify faults and their severity.
• Accurately record the handover process that was carried out, in an appropriate format.
• How to conduct an effective inspection/examination of the machine and it is mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic component parts.
• How to conduct an effective examination of an item of lifting equipment and a lifting accessory.
• How to complete a GA1 Report of Thorough Examination.
