This course is for all employees at each level to endorse safety awareness in the workplace. It is to take the "Don’t Walk By" approach to empower all employees to act when unsafe conditions arise

Aims:

This course is to inform learners how to be aware of their surroundings in relation to safety, (theirs and others). The program is designed to make learners use elements of information that is critical to having a safe place of work. Identifying, Processing, Comprehending and Responding to this information to identify hazards that could have a harming effect on them or others.

1. What is Situational Awareness?
2. Decision making during potentially high-stress situations
3. Identifying, Processing, Comprehending and Responding to critical elements of information
4. Physical and Mental stress
5. Human Factors related to safety
6. Maintaining Situational awareness
7. Employee Rights and Responsibilities
8. Assessment/Questions/Evaluation

Learning Outcomes:
• To demonstrate the “Don’t walk by” approach.
• To demonstrate the understanding of situational awareness
• To demonstrate the understanding of critical elements of information
• Show an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of employees

Assessment Method:
Learners will participate in several desktop exercises and will complete a written assessment
